Shingeki no Kyojin - Levi - Real Action Heroes #662: 1/6 (Medicom Toy) Review

Ohayƍ Gozaimasu!!!
School has been winning in my life recently, so blogging is always difficult in that time. But I've gotten so many goodies, but there's a particular one I have been waiting for, for almost a year, and It's finally in my possession!

Real Action Heroes: Levi.
Now, I'm just going to do a unboxing and add my two cents, not too extensive because I would hate for anyone to make a rash decision whether or not to purchase him.   I LIED.

Character: Levi
Series: Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan.
Company: Medicom Toy
Scale: 1/6 Articulated.
Material: Abs,Fabric(cotton),PVC.
Version: First production, limited parts: kerchief, bandanna, 2 dusters.

Boxing:
Nice and matte. The box is at least 12-14 inches long.

Side view. Action pose.

Zoom in.

Back of the box. I appreciate how they did a action pose for this side of the box VS the front. Kept the front simple and the back busy.

Side of the box.

Interior flap. Exposing the goods. A little rundown of all the possibilities of Levi.

Excuse the glare. They did an amazing job showing all his hands. Most figures will have the hands placed in the pack as well as other crucial pieces. I'm glad they displayed most of his crucial pieces first and foremost: Second hair piece, dusters, hands. The cape is far too big to showcase in the front unless he's wearing it.

Top of the box. Logo.

To the Armory: I wanted to be "extra" with it.

Weapon choice. (Which did amazing and cut everything precisely. )

Out of the box.

Plastic to protect that pretty face.

Back side of the packaging, Cape and kerchief's attached to the back,

It's a tad hard to see but I numbered it. All the coverings involved. So about four pieces of plastic burying everything.

First plastic covering removed.

'
Hey, girl.
Goosebumps everywhere after I removed him from his plastic coffin. So my first issue: Take a look at his leg.....right leg(well left in this view) It came on a arch, haven't been able to fix it just yet but it does not stand straight. Joint defect. He's standing mighty sassy!

Close up. He stands slanted, so you can see how it's altering his posture dead on. I really like the faint, lifeless color to his lips. Giving him that monotonous look and expression.

The jacket looks ridiculously cheap.... let's just be honest. I wish the material would of been a nice, flat, faux leather, but this one is a tad too glossy for my taste. Lighting easily bounces off of it, so choose your lighting carefully!

The belts and straps look amazing! As well as his little cloth. I love the details and buttons on his shirt. The extra mile with the material, instead of just a same colored button as the shirt.  The pegs to the side hold is gear.

And here's that sassy stance!

Back view.

Close up. The two indentations for his gear to be placed in.

Sassy. I did want to comment on the color chosen for the boots. Absolutely stunning and very well done. Well done, and to the point with paint detailing.

Close up of his head: Glossy coating added to the hair. I feel as if a nice, matte finish like they do with Figma's and Nendoroids would of worked well.
Aside from that, shoulder area details are amazing and well thought out. Doing a lot with a little.

Please excuse my nails >_< Visible end to some stitching. I can imagine how hard it is to sew something as small, so I can't complain there.

All faces and hands as well as hair pieces and faceplates. Action hair piece. Lethargic face. Suspicious face. And in action, titan slicing face. I like that the hands have their own joint attached and just slide in VS popping a hand on, that can break joints.

Suspicious faceplate. The shading by the eyes adds to the mystery and expression. Giving him that superior look, epic lighting emphasising his emotion "look" .

Face plates all off and hair. All peg related.

Action hair and face.  Very accurate to the art work

Pan out.

Early with my unboxing and removal... I realized there was no tape whatsoever holding anything together...but I just so happened to find tape holding the cape and kerchief to the packaging. Even though tape is annoying to remove continuously, I still appreciate the safety measures it forces.

The cape.

A latch and piece of thread "holding" the cape together. It broke as soon as I lightly opened it.....

Now this is where it got interesting. Wire was intertwined in the ends of the cape for movement. So you can bend the cape however you'd like. To showcase if he's in the air or wind, standing still, etc...

Showing how the wiring ability.
Cape on. A bit long and wraps over quite a bit as well. But it looks lovely.

The thread "holding" it together...so frustrating. I would think another latch would be the first choice.

The hood as well have wires inside to move and place around.

Now to the 3D Maneuvering gear! Love how it was packaged and organized. They gave multiple blade fittings to place into the top of the gear.

Goes on perfectly! No issues when removing the gear. I was told multiple times it was fragile, but it proved to be very sturdy!

Close up. Where the trouble started. If you look at his belt and notice his harpoon cable "holder" One fastens and the other does not at all. The area sculpted wasn't deep enough.

Side view.

Back view

Fastens in the back perfectly!

Just showing how well articulated he is! It was a worry of mine due to his size but he's great and quite flexible.

A "action" shot with his stand....His stand is one of the most horrifying things ever. Will NOT hold his weight securely! Please beware.

Just wanted to show the jacket off. It was actually very easy to remove it. I was worried it was going to be a hassle. Not at all! Came off easily, even after being on top of his long sleeve. Removing hands helps for this process!

Stud.

His harness is well detailed and secure.

Side angle of his harness and all included.

Kerchief for cleaning getup!

Now, the hands openings for his dusters are too big so they tend to slide around a bit!

Dusters made with cloth.

Wires are included in the kerchief and bandanna as well! I love this detail, Helps to work with the material much easily!

Forgot to showcase his harpoons! They're made of lead? Or some sort of metal! Anyways... they're very sturdy! In his Figma, they were made of plastic, making it easier to snap in half. So I appreciate the metal material.

The stand is very stiff and I felt as if it was going to break any minute now, so luckily he can stand on his own. The stiffness can be fixed with oil or clear nail polish.

And last but not least: I wanted to show how "action ready" he is! I'm very happy that I can sit him down, pose him differently, take off his jacket, shirt ;), and what not with no issue whatsoever!

Sculpting: 10/10. Amazing job! Did well with his face, and kept along the lines of the actual illustration.
Painting: 8/10. The gloss killed me, that's my only compliant.
Posing: 10/10. I can do anything!!!! Really excited for that!
Base:5/10. I'm horrified of it.
Enjoyment: 8/10. Due to his joint defect in the leg, as well as one of his hands sliding off because the peg was too small for the hole, those were my big complaints. The glossy jacket/material as well bugged me aesthetically.
Final thought: It's my husbando Levi! One of my favorite male anime characters that made a series enjoyable for me! Now Medicom RAH'S are very expensive! So before jumping that gun! Do some research! Do I think he was worth the $200+...not quite but I can see the details that make him worth that in a sense. Overall, I'm a content with him!

Thanks for reading everyone!
