Kotobukiya's ES-Series -1/8-Damaged Ver. Akira.

Hello there :).
This is my first figure review so bare with me. I'm reviewing one of my Holy Grails: Kotobukiya's Akira from the infamous yaoi series: Togainu No Chi.

Character:Akira.
Series: Togainu No Chi.
Company: Kotobukiya.
Scale: 1/8.
Material: PVC, ABS.

(Not reviewing the packaging, sorry. )

Frontal view.
Upclose. I love the expression upon his face. His eye brow arch brings life to the emotion he is sending out. The mouth actually being painted helps with the emotion as well. Nose lightly sculpted, nothing overwhelming. The head and neck flow perfectly together with the addition of neck creases, he doesn't have that "bobble" head effect some scaled figures have, in which there is an awkward separation between the neck and head. Hair flowing upon his face, giving his "blood wiping" movement. The paint job a little "blotchy."
Side view: The ab's are well defined in this sculpt.  And flow accordingly to his build. The waist line has a little bit of visible seams in which the boxers connect. Boxers actually sculpted instead of being painted on. With his battle scars present on  stomach and arm, I feel as if they should of been carved into his skin instead of painted, the paint makes it look flat, almost like war paint.

The details in this pelvic section are mind blowing.  The creases as well as  his thumb hooking down his unbutton pants, showing a provocative little peak, the creases give the sculpt movement. A little peak of a bulge as well to remind us that he is a man. I love that his hands are stained with "Blood" but I feel that since the cuts are so sparse it's a bit of overkill.  Paint job on the pants: a little messy.
Panning back up to his face and left side: The fold in each rip is done well and looks like they're flowing in each position. The shading on the arm gives a modest muscle definition.

Finger nail paint: I feel as if they should of used a shade a little lighter than this white, almost makes it look like his finger nails are painted. I love the creases within the palm, not just making a flat palm. The creases flowing into the clenched hand.
There's that shading again, excellent. Not only does he have these curves and muscles sculpted the shading gives amazing life to his skin and movement. Nipple as well was sculpted and shaded lightly. Paint a little blotchy here and visible seams and disconnect with the shirt at his breast.
The creases within the pants, excellent. Perfectly done to give his leg that arched look. Shoes painted and sculpted from the shoe laces hoops to the toe. And there's that lovely bulge again, poking out just a bit from the side.

The hair has this beautiful "wind in my hair" look. No blunt disconnection with the crown of the head.

The left side of his shoulder where his shirt connects to the back is a bit disconnected. Almost making it look like his arm can be alternated/removed. Muscle definition is the back: flawless, no shading added, all sculpt. The "butt" to me is a tad flat, he is pressed on a wall fragment but I still would of loved a little bit of bubble. At the back of this base it says: ES series 5th Anniversary Project. The base overall is a pain, he has a peg but the figure itself is a little too heavy for it, it's a balancing act.
A tad bit of paint failures here, but overall, beautiful rips and creases in the shirt. And that back definition is to die for.
Little more of  close up. I love how well the pants lean off to the side where he's tugging them down, just giving the act of it more life. A good pop to the figure, not making him seem flat.

Sculpting: 10/10
Painting: 8/10, Some sections a little messy, or a little "rushed" but overall decent.
Posing: 10/10
Base:7/10 I feel as if the bottom could've been a little bigger to help with the balance.
Enjoyment: 10/ 10
Final thought: He was my #2 holy grail and quite hard to acquire, so I feel very accomplished to have him in my life. Gorgeous figure, very majestic. Now all I need is Shiki to be by his side.

Aside from Togainu No Chi being an amazing series , besides Kotobukiya being one of my favorite companies,  My main motivation with this figure was the fact that he was one of the only "Sexy" male figures out there for us girls. Made me want him more. Men have a huge fan service out there while us ladies are finally getting some and some of the figures. Hopefully one day we'll have our own "cast off's" but for now, subtle removal of clothing and a gorgeous face will do. Not to mention a bad ass character.
