Recent shopping:

Recently I've bought quite a bit of figures. I've splurged a little too much, especially with it being September and all my emotions and finances tied into my upcoming preorders.

The shopping medium I've used recently has been: AmiAmi Pre-owned section!
Preowned
In case some didn't know, AmiAmi does sell used figures, very gently used. And pretty affordable, but be weary, you'll end up spending a little more than you thought.

Here's a little overview:

Just a generalization of the page and it's items.
Now a good portion of the time these items are used, it's rare when you find brand new for a sale. But a lot of them are unopened, just been preserved by an awesome individual but then.... you have the individual that has either unboxed it and placed it to collect dust or someone who might have broken a piece off, and sometimes just figures that have natural aging stains or factory stains, visible seams, all of the above, "How do I know what wrong with the figure if theres anything wrong?"
Here:

AmiAmi does a great job of giving you a break down of the quality. When you view the figure you'll see this:
The star icon: Just showing you a comparison of when the figure first came out and it's resale now. Some figures who came out for a little more, do fall in value. And some who came out for a little less, can be resold at high prices, due to production/production value.

"Item: B/Box:B" < What does that mean? That's the condition
Here's there overview of the condition types:

- Product Images
All images are of new items. Please refer to the condition ranking for the actual condition of the product.

- Damage and Stains
Because pre-owned items are not procured from the maker, some items may contain damage or stains. Please only place orders for pre-owned items after understanding the nature of the condition of such items.

That will be right under the products info. Giving you a good idea of what you're getting.
Now, don't be scared if the item is ranked a C. I actually have bought C items and they could be considered an A.:
This my "C" purchase: Makinami Mari Illustrious Figma(#079) Evangelion

Minor paint chips

Paint stain on the neck,

Outline fading

Minor chips.
Other than that, she's amazing. Joints are very poseable and much easier than some of my newer Figma's. She isn't missing anything. She was actually never opened, so some of these chips/stains are factory produced. Regardless of that, she was only 11 Bucks. So you can't beat that, especially since she comes with her cockpit.
I overall consider her a "B item".

Many grails appear on AmiAmi's preowned or figures that have fallen in value that are still worth having. They update each night: Monday-Friday, So give it a look see! Happy Hunting!

  1. Yo, Toy_Enthusiast from IG;Really great stuff on here. I especially appreciate this post, I've always tried to stay away from the pre owned section. But now I have a better understanding thanks to you, I'll definitely check it out. Keep up the great work 👍
